“TRAVEL TIPS & BITS”

EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS: FOLLOW THESE TRAVEL TIPS

By Clay Larroy

Travel is so much more that simply hopping on a flight to a new destination. If you plan it correctly, it could be a thrilling time you'll never forget. Planning a trip is fun as there are tons of things to do and see. Do you know how to plan a trip effectively? To help you sort out the options, check out the tips given here.

Packing light is key to making your travels as easy and free of stress as possible. Bring one carry on bag that includes everything you need, not necessarily everything you want. If traveling to cold weather, bring smaller clothes to create layers rather than big, space-consuming coats and sweaters. Your smart packing will pay off when you are happily carrying one bag around on vacation instead of lugging around multiple bags.

If you have plans to travel, the most important preparation you should do is make a checklist of everything you need from toiletries to extra articles of clothing. Before you leave, make sure that all of these items are packed because most likely if you forget something, the gift shops available to you will overcharge for simple things such as toothpaste or shampoo.

Search for discounts for all of your travel arrangements. Taking a trip provides you unlimited areas to save money in. In everything from the flight, to the rental car, to a walking tour of the city, discounts abound. Search online taking advantage of packages and check what deals are available to you through your credit cards and memberships.

Pay attention to your intuition when traveling. If a specific store, person, or neighborhood gives you "bad vibes", just walk away. Your intuition might be telling you something that you haven't consciously noticed. Even if you're wrong, it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your safety.

Bring a bag-of-fun for your kids. Make sure to have enough supplies to keep your kids entertained for the duration of the flight. There's nothing worse than an, "Are we there yet," ten minutes into a three-hour flight. Card games, special coloring books, and puzzles work well and, if you can afford one, pick up a portable video player. The hours of entertainment value are well worth the cost.

There is so much more to traveling than just taking a trip to a new place. You will need to do some serious advance planning in order to derive maximum enjoyment. The above tips should have given you some advice.
