When you choose to travel, whether it is for business
or pleasure, it is important to plan your trip well before hand. Here are some
tips to help you.
Don't be afraid to cash in your airline miles. Many
travelers let their miles accumulate and never bother using them. Reap the
rewards of your traveling and spend the miles you've earned! Miles have
expiration dates, so be sure to use them before they expire. Often you can use
them on items other than travel, so check out your options and get to spending.
If you have a laptop, bring an A/V cable with you on
your trip. Most hotel rooms come equipped with a television, and many now
include free wireless internet as well. By hooking your laptop up to the hotel
television with an A/V cable you instantly have access to many more
entertainment options, whether streaming a movie from the internet to using the
laptop as a DVD player.
Get a door stopper for additional safety when you stay
in a hotel. It is wise to sometimes have extra security for your hotel room
when you're traveling outside the US. If you don't find a chain or deadbolt on
the door, put a small doorstop beneath the door at bedtime.
Always pack a map when you travel, even if you have a
GPS system. GPS systems are not always reliable. If it were to malfunction or
become broken, you would be lost. A highlighter can be helpful as well,
allowing you to mark your map for easy reference. As a bonus, your well-used
and marked up map, makes an excellent memento to remember your trip by.
Once you decide to travel, how good you plan the trip
will help you feel comfortable and be comfortable at your destination. Not only
will you feel less anxiety before the trip, but you can rest assured that once
you arrive where you're going you will have a good understanding of what's
going on there.
Live,
Love and Travel to create memories that will last a
lifetime!
