Family Travel to the Florida Keys
With
upwards of 1700 islands, the Florida Keys has become one of the main vacation
destinations for beach bums, cultural junkies and amateur fishers from across
the country.

the neighboring Caribbean Islands that were created from volcanic explosions,
the Keys themselves were created by plants and animals. The upper Keys were at
one point a coral reef, which became fossilized once the sea levels began to
decline.
The
climate of the Keys has been described as tropical, which is more closely a

the Keys are home to the largest population of American crocodiles. Despite the
